Up Next! Busy, busy, busy!

Lights Up: The DC Theatre Podcast Logo

Hey everybody! Well here we are, and as it goes in theatre, a lot of things come down to scheduling. As artists we are all very busy folks and that’s why it’s very important that we make the time to get people together for these kinds of conversations.

We’ll be having our chat with Julianne and Jenny as planned on May 16th for the “Festivals and Self-Producing” episode. As well as featuring a guest artist who has their own perspective on the subject.

More big news is that we’re also working on another episode as well! At the same time! I know, right?!

For “Old Works, Different Takes, and New Lives” we’ll be taking a look at what it means to re-tell a story; How theatre artists are approaching the modern world and shaping ideas and themes from old plays into something relevant to the times we live in today.

And for that we’ll be speaking with Dan Dietz, the award winning playwright of tempOdyssey, Tilt Angel, American Misfit, The Sandreckoner, and Home Below Zero about the area premiere of his play Clementine in the Lower 9 and with the director, Derek Goldman. The production opens in late May of 2013 at Forum Theatre in Silver Spring.

So yes! There is lots happening! And we’re moving very quickly to get more people on the show. Don’t go too far!
